Just had to share this with all the BMW E70 owners—after swapping out the dashboard, it completely refreshed the look of the car. It feels like it knocked 5 years off the age of the vehicle! Here's a quick rundown of the experience:

The new digital cluster is a lot simpler and more intuitive. The display is crystal clear, and the data is generally accurate. A quick tip: watch out for the remaining fuel range, as this number fluctuates quite a bit. I think it’s based on the car’s average fuel consumption, so it changes the remaining range accordingly—not an issue with the display itself. The LCD dashboard is essentially just a better screen for the data.
The instant fuel consumption display is pretty spot-on, changing in real-time with speed. One small thing I noticed: the speed on the dashboard and the speed shown on the map are about 1 km/h lower than the actual speed.
Installation was surprisingly easy. Just unscrew the two bolts at the bottom, pop the new cluster in, and it's plug-and-play. That said, when you’re removing the old one, the clips at the back are pretty tight, and I was a bit worried about breaking them.
When installing the new one, it does require a bit of patience to get it to fit properly—if it’s not pushed in all the way, there’ll be a small gap. But with a little effort, it fits perfectly.

There are a few downsides. For instance, Android Auto doesn’t work at the moment—it only supports CarPlay. Also, when I first installed it, the mileage didn’t show up. Luckily, I contacted the seller, and they quickly sent me an OTA update that fixed the issue.

Overall, I’m super happy with the new cluster. Yes, there are a couple of quirks, but the positives far outweigh the negatives. The display resolution is excellent, and the speed is almost on par with the original. The compatibility with the car was also better than I expected—pretty much all the functions work and display correctly. Seeing CarPlay’s maps on the cluster is a game-changer, and it really elevates the whole experience. The car feels so much fresher now, I’ve kind of lost the urge to upgrade and feel like I can keep driving it for a few more years.
